About Swindon
Swindon doesn't get a lot of love in cultural conversations, but it's a town with serious working credentials: a busy small-business community across professional services, manufacturing, hospitality and retail, and a position on the M4 corridor that makes it properly accessible from a wide catchment.
We chose Swindon as a venue town because it's the natural meeting point for anyone running a small business across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, the southern Cotswolds, and parts of Berkshire. Easy logistics matter more than venue glamour when you're trying to get to a workshop and back in a working day, and Swindon delivers on logistics.
Getting here
By car. The current venue is just off the M4 (junction 15) on Pipers Way, with free on-site parking. Plug SN3 1SH into your satnav and you'll find it without trouble.
By train. Swindon station has frequent services from London Paddington, Bristol, Reading, and Cardiff, with journey times under an hour from London. The current venue is around 15 minutes by taxi from the station, about £10-15 by cab.
By bus. Local Swindon services connect the station and town centre to Pipers Way. Check Stagecoach West or Swindon Bus for current timetables.
What's nearby
Pipers Way sits in a quieter business-park-ish part of Swindon, so the immediate area isn't packed with cafés. For most attendees, the practical move is to arrive, do the workshop, and head home. If you've got time either side, Swindon's Old Town (a 10-minute drive) has independent restaurants, pubs, and the Arts Centre. A real working area rather than a tourist quarter.
A quick note on the venue
We hold workshops at the Delta Hotel at the moment because the room, the parking, and the accessibility all work properly for our format. This venue is not a permanent home, however, and this may vary on courses in the future. When you go to book your workshop the displayed address on the workshop description will be correct.
