About Cheltenham
Cheltenham punches above its weight culturally. The Literature Festival, the Jazz Festival, the Science Festival, the Music Festival, the Food Festival. There's a serious cultural calendar here, and a proper independent business community to match. The town has the kind of small business density that makes our workshops genuinely useful: independent retailers, agencies, hospitality, professional services, all running on tight teams who need to do their own marketing well.
We chose Cheltenham as a venue town because attendees can drive in from across Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Wiltshire and beyond, park easily, do a half-day or 90-minute workshop, and be home in time for dinner. Easy logistics, serious training.
Getting here
By car. The current venue (Ramada by Wyndham) is just off the A40 with free on-site parking. Easy approach from the M5 (junction 11), the A40, or the A435. Plug GL51 0ST into your satnav and you'll find it without trouble.
By train. Cheltenham Spa station has direct services from Bristol, Birmingham, London Paddington, and Edinburgh. The current venue is around 15 minutes by taxi or local bus from the station, about £8-12 by cab.
By bus. Stagecoach West runs frequent services across Gloucestershire, with stops near the current venue. Check Stagecoach West for current timetables.
What's nearby
Cheltenham itself is the draw. Twenty minutes' walk or a short cab from the venue and you're in the heart of town:
- The Promenade and Imperial Square — Regency architecture, gardens, independent shops
- Suffolk Quarter — independent cafés, restaurants, and an excellent independent cinema
- The Brewery Quarter — bars, restaurants, and Cheltenham's main cinema complex
- Pittville Park — one of the country's best Regency public parks, fifteen minutes from town
Most attendees come, do the workshop, and head home. If you fancy making a day of it, Cheltenham makes that very easy.
A quick note on the venue
We hold workshops at the Ramada by Wyndham at the moment because the room, the parking, and the accessibility all work properly for our format. This venue is not a permanent home, however, and this may vary on courses in the future. When you go to book your workshop the displayed address on the workshop description will be correct.
